Maria Bello plays an interesting character in Goliath on Amazon

Rule 5 and FMJRA

  1. I never heard of her, but by the picture; I confused her with Liza Weil.

    1. She has a bio of mostly TV shows I think (ones I did not follow). She has been in the news as some Lesbian actress (how is that even news anymore). But her character in Goliath (a new Amazon tv series written and produced by David E. Kelly) (she plays the now lesbian-bisexual ex-wife of Billy Bob Thorton's down and out lawyer character) is reasonably nuanced and witty--so I gave her a Rule 5. She does not have a major role, but she does well with what she was given.

    2. Not complaining. Just was amazed at the similarity to Liza, who I noticed back in the Gilmore Girls days. Not quite as smooth with the rapid dialogue as the two main characters, but she held her own. She showed well in HTGAWM, at least until I could no longer stand the virtue signaling from a show with the premise that it's cool for lawyers to call cover up homicides.

So far, only made for Internet show I've watched is Stranger Things. I tried one of the Netflix Marvel shows, but turned it off halfway through episode one. Grand Tour is only a few weeks away, so I've been exercising my Prime account.

    3. And agree about Lesbian thing. The only thing amazing is how many LGBT roles exist on shows compared to the general population. They also tend not to do well. I don't think it is because of homophobia, but rather people who are watching TV, rather than porn, aren't looking for that much sex in their programming. And how else do you show a person's sexual preference without sex scenes?

  2. I really like most of the Amazon Series. I think they are great. Man in the High Castle (season two is two months off). Red Oaks is light comedy but funny (that comes back next month). I liked Mozart in the Jungle too.

    1. Do they have comedies that aren't half SJW fare?

    2. Red Oaks for sure. It is more of a PG Caddyshack (not as OTT hilarious as that, but still funny). It could easily be edited to be okay for regular TV (of course regular TV is pretty bad now a days).

  3. Well, she sure is pretty anyway. #FJB and F U for voting for that idiot Biden!
